More Pull, less Push

As advertising and marketing has been criticized for being evil, probably there is some truth, however there is purpose for advertising within society. It it has been used in many ways, before it officially even existed.

Of course there are many products and services which should not be out there, because they are useless, and they are taking space from products which are needed.

Pull method, means finding relevant segment and target the message for them, after that they can choose if they are interested. Today's society is overwhelmed and skeptical about advertisements, people find ads many times irrelevant for them. Pull method is more ethical way of dealing with ads and knowledge creation.

Customer orientation and Pull method are closely linked. Products and services have to be created from a need, known or unknown for the customer, this means that customers will get relevant and useful products. And this does not mean creation of new needs, for products which are not really needed.
